Demonstration in favor of Kulman Ghising in Balaju and Jorpati

Bhadra 31,Kathmandu. Demonstrations have taken place in Jorpati and Balaju of Kathmandu demanding re-appointment of Kulman Ghising as the executive director of Nepal Electricity Authority.

In Balaju Machhapokhari, an independent civil group staged a peaceful protest while in Jorpati, local youths staged a protest. Those carrying various play-cards also chanted slogans saying that the government could not do justice to Kulman.

A group of youths with national flags chanted slogans against the government saying that the re-appointment of Kulman was delayed. They have drawn the attention of the government to make a decision to give Kulman the responsibility in the authority again.

Ghising's four-year term ended on Sunday. NEA employees have also bid a formal farewell on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister himself is not willing to repeat Kulman. At the grassroots level, there is pressure on the government to re-appoint Kulman to the authority.
