The government says: "If people be negligent, we will be forced to put lockdown again."

Kathmandu: The government has urged all to remain vigilant as coronavirus infections have been on the rise in recent times.

Government Spokesperson and Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradip Gyawali urged all not to be negligent. He also warned that if the government's request is disobeyed by the people, it may be stopped again.

Minister Gyawali also urged to pay attention to the situation as the transition could become more complicated as the festival is approaching. He said that strict action would have to be taken if the government's repeated appeals were not heeded.

He also said that 60 percent more people are infected in Kathmandu Valley. He said this at a regular press conference organized to make public the decisions of the cabinet.

Minister Gyawali had urged to be more sensitive during the festive season saying that even a small negligence could endanger one's life. He also urged the local people's representatives and stakeholders of the areas including Narainapur, Udaipur and Birgunj of Banke to realize the role played by them in controlling the infection.

In the last two days alone, two government ministers have been infected with the coronavirus. Experts, however, said that the number of infected people in Kathmandu could increase.
