Seven accused in police murder

Dhangadhi  : Police have made public the names of seven people arrested in connection with the murder of Assistant Inspector of Police (ASI) and police personnel in Dhangadhi. The District Police Office, Kailali, on Tuesday made public the names of seven persons arrested in connection with the murders of Govinda Bik, Assistant Inspector of Police and Ram Bahadur Saud, in-charge of Temporary Police Post Jugeda.


Among the arrested are Rohit Rana, 31, of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolis-10, Rajendra Rana, 20, Suresh Rana, 30, Raj Kumar Rana, 25, Ram Niwas Rana, 22, Dalram Rana, 29, and Gopal, 25, of Ward No. 11. Ram Gopal Rana.

He confessed that he was attacked and killed after the police obstructed him while he was smuggling goods from Nepal to India. Police have arrested 16 people for investigation and seven people have been implicated. Bik, who was also in-charge of the temporary police post Jugeda, went missing on Saturday night while on regular patrol. They were searched at 10 pm but did not get a call.

The body of Assistant Inspector BK was found in the Mohana River at Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan Ward No. 10 on Sunday morning. The body of police constable Saud was also found in the Mohana River area on Tuesday. According to police, Bik's body was found in the Mohana River 200 meters below the spot.
