PCR report is mandatory for Mardi and Machhapuchhre trekking

Kaski:  With the increase in the number of domestic tourists on the two famous trekking routes in the district in the last ten years, the trekkers have to bring their mandatory PCR reports to prevent the possible risk of corona infection.



Tourists on the famous Mardi Himal trekking and Machhapuchhre model trekking have decided to report the PCR negative to those who come on trekking from October 7 to prevent the risk. A meeting of the ward chairpersons of Machhapuchhre Gaonpalika Ward Nos. 7, 8 and 9, Tourism Management Committee Australian Camp, Mardi Trek Tourism Management Committee, Machhapuchhre Model Trek Management Committee and other stakeholders decided to operate the business following health safety standards and reduce risk. Secretary of the Management Committee Kul Prasad Adhikari said.

He said, "After the closure of trekking elsewhere, the number of pedestrians in Mardi and Machhapuchhre has increased significantly in the last ten years. The crowd of domestic tourists has increased in Mardi and Machhapuchhre after the world-famous Annapurna Cycle Tour was stopped by the local businessmen.

Ward Chairman of Machhapuchhre Gaonpalika-8 Krishna Prasad Dawadi said that efforts have been made to keep the locals, pedestrians and businessmen safe due to the huge crowd. He said that PCR was made mandatory after the locals of Dhampus, Ghalel, Siding, Kalimati and other places felt insecure during the Mardi trek.

Ward Chairman Dawadi said, “People have come on foot from the border districts, even from highly infected places, so that no one felt safe. We have asked everyone to abide by the health care standards set by the government. ” It is planned to mobilize the security personnel of Bhindabari and Dhampus police posts along with the Tourism Entrepreneurs Committee in different places under the supervision of pedestrians.

Mardi Himal trekking has become a tourist destination in recent years. As the base camp of Mardi Himal can be reached, it has been developed as Mardi Himal trekking route.

It is located at a distance of 22 km from Pokhara. Reaches Himal base camp.

The Machhapuchhre model footpath starts from Siding of Machhapuchhre village municipality-9. The trekking can be done from Siding, Rivan, Lahachok, Ghachok and the former Machhapuchhre VDC.
