The army is conducting a poetry competition on the occasion of Prithivi Jayanti, a unification walk from Gorkha to Kathmandu!

Kathmandu: The Nepal Army, which has been celebrating Prithvinarayan Shah's birthday as the National Unity Day, is planning to organize a national poetry competition on the occasion this year. The army has also stated that there will be a unification march from Gorkha to Kathmandu.

The trek will start on January 7, pass through Dhading, Nuwakot, and Nagarjuna, reach Hanuman Dhoka on January 7, and participate in the program on January 10. The procession will include the Nepal Army, local people, and students.

After defeating Mirkasim's army on foot, Prithvi Narayan Shah will be accompanied by the mark of five Nepal Army companies, Nepal's national flag, and the unification light, according to the Nepal Army.

There will be competition between the poems written on the theme 'Promotion of Nation, Nationality and National Unity and Prithvi Narayan Shah'. Nepal was united under the leadership of King Prithvi Narayan Shah of Gorkha.

Prithvi Narayan Shah Study Center to be established 

The Nepal Army is set to set up a Prithvi Narayan Shah Study Center at the base. The study center will house important information and facts about Shah, the army said.
