National census program postponed for now
Kathmandu: The national census program has been postponed for now.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology and government spokesperson Parbat Gurung informed Ujyalo that the census program scheduled to be conducted from June 9 to 8 has been postponed for some time due to the Corona epidemic.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held yesterday has decided to postpone the census for the time being. Minister Gurung said that the date will be fixed again after the corona epidemic subsides. 43,000 enumerators have been deployed across the country for the 12th census.
Necessary training and enumeration for enumerators and supervisors were underway. A census is being conducted in Nepal every 10 years.
