Treason case against Deputy Prime Minister Mahato
Kathmandu: A writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking to keep the appointment of Deputy Prime Minister Rajendra Mahato as a minister.
Lawyer Bir Bhadra Joshi has filed a writ petition seeking 25 years imprisonment for treason against Mahato under Section 50 (1) of the Criminal Code, 2074 BS.
Deputy Prime Minister Mahato had given a controversial statement immediately after the swearing-in of the minister.
