Kathmandu: Locusts infiltrating Nepal are becoming inactive. Sahadev Humagain, director of the plant quarantine and pesticide management center, said that no locusts have been reported in the last three or four days.

With the wind blowing, the locusts have reached the high mountain areas including Mustang and many have died due to adverse weather conditions. He said that even the surviving locusts could not eat or stay. But the locusts in the border areas of India are still likely to come to Nepal.

Humagain, director of the plant quarantine and pesticide management center, said that the possibility of immediate arrival will be known only after a discussion with experts this afternoon. According to him, how many are there in the border area? What is the weather like in India? And if you come to Nepal, how much damage can you do? That will be informed after today's discussion.

He said that the swarm of locusts, which was expected to arrive in Nepal till yesterday, may not have arrived in India due to inclement weather. He said that detailed information will be taken and information will be published through the locust projection app today. Smoke and loud noises can repel locusts.
