National poet Madhav Ghimire dies at the age of 101

KATHMANDU:  National poet Madhav Prasad Ghimire passed away at the age of 101 on Tuesday evening.

               

According to a family member, he died at his residence in Lanchaur at 5:55 pm on Tuesday.

He completed 101 years last September and took 102 years. Poet Ghimire, who was born in Lamjung's Pustun Bahundanda on September 26, 1976, is a popular poet in Nepali public life.

On the eve of the birth anniversary of the national poet, 'National Poet in the Eyes of One Hundred and One Poets' was unveiled.

On the occasion of the 101st birth anniversary of the national poet Ghimire, a collection of poems written by one hundred and one poets about his personality and work was unveiled by Ganga Prasad Upreti, the Vice-Chancellor of Nepal-Pragya Pratisthan.
