National Academy of Young Scientists formed in Nepal

August 28, Kathmandu. National Young Academy Nepal (NAYAN), an organization of young scientists, has been formed to raise the voice of young scientists in Nepal.

Dr. In the ad hoc committee of the academy formed under the chairmanship of Vasant Giri, Dr. Balkumari Olia, Dr. Vishesh Khanal, Dr. Sagar Regmi, Dr. Smriti Pant, Dr. Suraj Bhattarai and Dr. Even Uttam Babu Shrestha has seven.

Before the formation of the institute, Nepali young scholars had organized meetings in August, November and December last year.

The academy has said that applications for membership will be invited in the near future as per the constitution of the organization.

As there is youth in the name of the organization, there is an age limit to become a member. The academy is not only for pure scientists but also researchers in all disciplines including law, sociology, anthropology and medicine. Suraj Bhattarai said.

Efforts to open academies for young scholars have been on the rise around the world. So far, such national academies have been opened in 41 countries of the world. Uttam Babu Shrestha said.

Shrestha said that the academy has also started a national level survey to understand the condition of Nepali young scholars.
