"Let's not welcome Indian Army Chief in Nepal": Trend on social media

Kathmandu:  While preparing for the visit of Indian Army Chief Manoj Mukunda Narawane to Nepal, there is a trend on social media not to welcome him in Nepal. Narawane's visit to Nepal has been opposed, saying it is an attack on Nepal's sovereignty and integrity.

Demands for a halt to his visit to Nepal have been widely circulated on social media as he has gone beyond the bounds of diplomatic dignity. The youths have expressed their indignation saying that Narawane has disrupted Nepal's sovereignty on the network.

They have also urged Prime Minister KP Oli not to give the honorary title of Chief of Army Staff to the army chief of the country and to intervene immediately.

Narawane is scheduled to pay a three-day visit to Nepal in the third week of October. He is coming to Nepal to receive the honor of the Honorary Commander of the Nepal Army under the tradition of being the Honorary Chief of Army Staff of Nepal and India. During her visit to Nepal, President Vidyadevi Bhandari will confer honorary Maharathi status on her.

When Nepal protested against India's construction of a road in Lipulek, Nepal, Army Chief Narawane said that Nepal was protesting in the interest of others.
