CPN, Clashes between Ex UML and Ex Maoists Party in Parsa: Party secretary of village municipality killed


One person has died and another is in critical condition during a clash at a swearing-in ceremony organized by the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Parsa in Bindwasani village. The injured have been identified as Mukesh Chaurasia, party secretary of Bindawasani village.

Chaurasia, who was critically injured, was taken from Narayani Hospital to Panitanki Neuro Hospital for further treatment. Another critically injured Uttam Tiwari is undergoing treatment.

Dozens of people were injured in a clash between the two parties at the swearing-in ceremony of the village committee organized by CPN-Parsa in Bindwasani on Thursday. There was a dispute between the village chairman and the secretary at the venue. According to CPN-Parsa, dozens of cadres were injured in the incident.

Spokesperson of Parsa Police, Deputy Superintendent of Police Manoj Kunwar said that Mukesh Chaurisaya, a resident of Parsaunibhatha, died while undergoing treatment. Two injured Uttam Tiwari and Chintu Tiwari are undergoing treatment at the National Medical College.

Among those arrested by the police, CPN (Maoist) leader Raju Kumar Gupta was released on Thursday night while seven others have been detained by the police.

Meanwhile, the District Office of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Parsa has demanded strict action against those who attacked and killed Chaurasia, a district committee member and secretary of the Bindawasini village committee. On Friday, the district committee issued a statement demanding immediate arrest and action against those involved in the killings, declaring Mukes Chaurasia a martyr, compensation for the injured and free treatment.
