1 lakh masks provided by Nepal Army to India, Health equipment including ventilator provided by Indian Army

Kathmandu: The Indian Army has provided medical supplies including ventilators to the Nepal Army. Indian Army Chief Manoj Mukunda Narwane, who is on a three-day official visit to Nepal, handed over the medical supplies on Thursday.

He handed over ambulances, equipment and other medical supplies as well as ventilators for the establishment of two field hospitals at a function held at the army headquarters, according to the Nepal Army. Maharthi Purnachandra Thapa of the Nepal Army also handed over one lakh medical masks and Buddha statues made in Nepal for the Indian Army.

Earlier, a contingent of the Nepal Army had paid homage to Indian Army Chief Narwane. Army Chief Narwane planted okhar saplings in the battlefield premises on Thursday. After that, a formal meeting was held between Chief of Army Staff Purnachandra Thapa and Army Chief Narwane. The Chief of Army Staff paid homage at the Veer Smarak at Sainik Manch Tundikhel in the morning.

He has come to Nepal to receive the honorary title of Maharathi of the Nepal Army as per the tradition of awarding honorary Maharathi status to the Chiefs of Army Staff of each other's countries between the Nepal Army and the Indian Army.

President Vidyadevi Bhandari is scheduled to confer the honorary rank of Maharathi on Army Chief Narwane on Thursday evening. Indian Army Chief Narwane is the 18th Army Commander to receive the honorary title from Nepal.
