Indian Tractors who were loading sand by entering Nepal is under controlled by APF

Birgunj: Armed Police have arrested an Indian tractor for forcibly loading sand by entering Nepali land in the Nepal-India Dasgaja area. The Border Out Post of the Armed Police Force at Pidariguthi in Jagarnathpur Gaonpalika-1 of Parsa has taken under control an Indian tractor loading sand from the Nepal side of the Oriya River on Friday. The tractor was handed over to the Birgunj Customs Office, police said. 

Armed Police Inspector Basanta GC informed that an Indian tractor loaded with sand (BR 22 GB 2595) had to be taken under control after the Armed Police Force (APF) team refused to enter the Nepal-India separation pillar. According to the locals, disputes have been arising between Nepal and India over the issue of sand excavation from the Oriya river area from time to time. 

The Indians had fled three years ago after snatching the weapons of the armed police who had gone to stop the Indian intervention. According to the locals, after the Indian side called for tenders, hundreds of tractors come to the Oriya River daily to collect sand and they come to Nepal to dig sand forcibly.

A patrol team led by Armed Police Inspector Kedar Rai from Armed Police Border Outpost Mahadevpati also entered Nepali territory and loaded sand from the same river. According to the Armed Police Force, the tractor has been sent to the Birugunj Customs Office for necessary action.
