Province 1 Chief Minister Rai has removed Economic Affairs Minister Angbo

The side effects of the dispute within the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) are also being felt in the state government. While the Prachanda-Madhav Nepal faction has filed a no-confidence motion against the Chief Minister in Bagmati Pradesh, a minister has also been sacked in Province 1.

Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai has removed Economic Affairs and Planning Minister Indra Angbo. Chief Minister's Press Adviser Dhruv Subedi confirmed Angbo's resignation on Saturday. The sacked minister is in the Prachanda-Nepal group.

He is accused of running a signature campaign against the state government for a no-confidence motion. After the dissolution of the parliament by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on January 20, the CPN (Maoist) has become divided at the center. While the rap of the same division is being seen at the grassroots level, it is expected that the state government will also be reshuffled.
