Boeing has decided to ground dozens of Boeing 777s around the world

KATHMANDU: US aircraft maker Boeing has decided to "ground" dozens of Boeing 777s around the world due to engine problems in one of its aircraft. 

Last Saturday, a plane carrying 231 passengers was forced to return to Denver airport in the United States. No one was injured in the incident. 

Since then, United Airlines and Japan's two main airlines have stopped using 62 aircraft. Korean Air has also stopped using six aircraft.  

Boeing has stated that it will stop using a total of 128 aircraft, including the engine in the Denver aircraft.

The company said in a statement that "the investigation is still ongoing. We have recommended that the use of 69 Pratt & Whitney 4000-112 engines and 59 aircraft in storage be stopped.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the aircraft is used only by United Airlines in the United States. It is also being used in Japan and South Korea.
