Supreme Court to pronounce verdict on CPN name dispute on Sunday
The Supreme Court on Sunday ruled in a dispute over the name of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN).
The verdict was postponed due to the mourning leave given to all the courts, including the Supreme Court, on the demise of former Chief Justice Surendra Prasad Singh.
A bench of justices Vam Kumar Shrestha and Kumar Regmi is scheduled to pronounce its verdict on Sunday.
The Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) was formed after the unification of the CPN-UML and the Maoist Center. Immediately, Rishi Kattel filed a written petition in the name of the CPN against the Election Commission.
In the CPN-Oli group, there is talk that if the CPN (Maoist) is disbanded, the rising sun can move forward.
