The Maoists called a meeting to discuss their support for the government

Kathmandu: The CPN-Maoist Center has convened a meeting of its standing committee. Leaders have said that a meeting has been called for 1 pm at the party office, Parisdanda. Members of the Standing Committee have been informed to attend the meeting. According to a source, the meeting will discuss whether to withdraw the support given to the KP Oli-led government. After the Supreme Court did not recognize the CPN formed by the former UML and the UCPN (Maoist) Center, the UML and the UCPN (Maoist) returned to their former state and started separate activities.

The Maoist Central Standing Committee has 19 members. Leaders including Mani Thapa, Ram Bahadur Thapa, Lekhraj Bhatt, and Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, who became ministers on behalf of the former Maoists, will not participate in the standing committee meeting convened by Prachanda.

"We are not likely to go to today's meeting," Rayamajhi told Ratopati. It is not possible to say that this will happen as no decision has been reached. Mani Thapa, who has become the drinking water minister, has said that he will remain in the UML.

From now on, the UML will conduct its activities from its office in Dhumbarahi while the UCPN-M will conduct its activities from Parisdanda in Koteshwar. In Dhumbarahi, the CPN (UML) board has been replaced by the CPN board on Tuesday.
