Bhattarai-Yadav faction absent from JSP parliamentary party meeting

Kathmandu: A meeting of the parliamentary party of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal is being held.

Only Chairman MP Mahanta Thakur and leader Rajendra Mahato's party MPs are present at the meeting held at the parliamentary party's office in Singha Durbar.

The meeting is likely to decide on the formation of a new government. The meeting of the JSP's parliamentary party, which is in a dilemma whether to support KP Sharma Oli as the prime minister or form a government under its leadership, is likely to take a special decision. However, lawmakers from Baburam Bhattarai and Upendra Yadav's party said they did not know about the meeting.

The Thakur-Mahato faction had selected Rajendra Mahato as the leader of the parliamentary party. It has 32 MPs.
