Black fungus epidemic declared in 15 states of India, more than 9,000 patients were infected
The state of Haryana was the first to declare an epidemic of black fungus. Since then, epidemics have been declared in Rajasthan and now in 15 states. Outbreaks have been reported in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Karnataka, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu.
Experts black fungi to avoid diabetes control are suggested. Dr. Naresh Treh, president of Medanta Hospital, has advised immediate treatment for symptoms like nose pain, swollen cheeks, infection in the mouth, swollen eyelids, eye pain, dim eyes, and swelling of any part of the face. According to him, steroids should be used properly to control black fungus and diabetes should be controlled.
