My victory made it clear what unity is: Pandey


DANG: Drig Narayan Pandey, who was elected as a member of the National Assembly from Dang-Lumbini state, has said that his victory was a victory of national unity. Talking to reporters after the results of the election held in Ghorahi of Dang district on Monday, he said that his victory was a victory for the pro-democracy people.

The newly elected member of the National Assembly said that his victory has clearly shown what unity is from bottom to top. He urged the government not to underestimate their unity and to understand the current situation.

He has now expressed his commitment to raising the issue of federalism and republic in the House. During the program, he said that he had won through the efforts of all and would raise the burning issue loudly in the House.

Thanking the voters, he said it was a victory for the pro-democracy people and added that his victory would help strengthen democracy. Now, he has expressed his commitment to raising the issues that have been covered up with the republic and federalism in the National Assembly.

Chief Election Officer Ritendra Thapa handed over the certificate to the newly elected member Pandey.  

Nepali Congress candidate Drug Narayan Pandey has won the election for the National Assembly in Lumbini today. He won with 4,140 votes. His nearest rival Chandra Bahadur Khadka of the CPN-UML polled 3,612 votes.
