Border problem: Indians graze buffaloes in rice fields inside Nepal, Nepalis who were chased away were beaten to death

Kathmandu:  Bread is not the only issue with the Indian side on Nepal's border. Occasional disputes have claimed lives. A few days ago, a Nepali died after being beaten by an Indian citizen in a dispute over grazing buffalo in a paddy field inside Nepal. Ramdev Yadav, 35, of Kataiya in Saptari Dakneshwari Municipality-6 died on Sunday, according to police.


What happened ?

Ramdev Yadav, 35, had planted paddy in Kataiya Dashgaja of Dakneshwari Municipality-6. On August 20, at around 3 pm, he went to see a buffalo grazing in his field. When he arrived, three young men were grazing buffalo.

The deceased have been identified as Pradip Yadav, 19, Dev Gora Yadav, 20, and Saroj Yadav, 18. After Ramdev grazed the buffalo in his game, he went to chase it away. However, the three Indian teenagers beat him with a bass stick. Ramdev, who was injured in the beating, died at BP Health Institute in Dharan.

Police have arrested Pradip Yadav and are investigating.
