Preparations began for Indian Army Chief Narbhane's visit to Nepal

Ashoj 28, Kathmandu. Preparations are underway for the visit of Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukunda Narbhane, who has been suspended due to border dispute and Corona virus epidemic.

There is a practice of honoring the Chiefs of Army Staff of both Nepal and India as honorary commanders in each other's countries. That is why Narbhane is coming to Nepal.

According to Nepal Army battlefield sources, a formal invitation has been extended to Narbhane to visit Nepal within the month of November. Military sources claim that the invitation was sent after informal talks with the Indian side.

The border dispute between the two countries came to the surface after India built roads in areas including Kalapani, Lipulek and Limpiyadhura. Meanwhile, Narbhane had made a controversial statement saying that Nepal had raised the issue of Lipulek at the behest of someone.

After the incident, it was also demanded to stop the practice of honoring the honorary commander.

Chief of Army Staff Purnachandra Thapa, on the other hand, visited Muglaan (India) on Poush 29, 2077 BS and received the honor of Honorary Commander-in-Chief.

After his return to Nepal, the cabinet meeting of Magh 20 2076 has approved the visit of Indian Army Chief Narbhane and Israeli Army Chief Abhi Djokovic to Nepal. Accordingly, Narbhan's visit is about to take place.

It is customary for the honorary commander of the army to be honored by the Supreme Commander of the Army. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

A Jangiadda source said, "The meeting and the program will be decided only after the date of the visit is fixed."
