The Ministry of Home Affairs urges the temples and Shakti Peeths not to be open to devotees except for regular worship during Dashain.

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has urged the temples and Shakti Peeths not to be open to devotees except for regular worship during Dashain.

Ministry spokesperson Chakra Bahadur Budha said that the ban on devotees has been imposed as the risk of Kovid 19 infection would increase as temples and Shakti Peeths are crowded. However, he said that regular worship can be started.

He said that the Ministry of Home Affairs would assist in the implementation of the request as the Ministry of Health was also requesting not to crowd the temple.

During the great festival of Baradshah, special worship is performed at various Shakti Peeths and a large number of devotees visit it. Therefore, considering the possible crowds in the temples, the government has banned all religious and cultural activities except regular worship.
