Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government is determined to control any kind of murder, violence, extremism and social crime in the country. Addressing the 65th Police Day celebrations held at the Police Headquarters today, Prime Minister Oli urged the security personnel to be active and fearless against such unwanted activities.


He said that it was equally important for the civil society to be aware and vigilant towards such activities. Prime Minister Oli said the government was determined to take tough action against acid attacks by bringing in new laws, adding that similar laws would be brought against rape. "As the incidents of rape are reprehensible and a crime against humanity, the government is preparing to bring in tougher laws to control such activities," Oli said. "Incidents such as rape cannot be tolerated in the name of reconciliation." He directed the Nepal Police to stay away from harassment and social pressure in such incidents. He urged the police to focus on building a crime-free society and contributing to lasting peace by implementing the law. Prime Minister Oli said that the challenge of the Kovid-19 epidemic, which had emerged as an invisible enemy to the world, was widespread and could not be brought under control despite trying to do so in Nepal. He openly praised the commitment shown by the health workers and security personnel in the difficult situation of the transition. He urged the general public not to forget the duty of self-discipline and restraint in such a situation. Prime Minister Oli said: "No one should be intimidated by the epidemic of infection. We need to be aware that such a deadly disease can strike and harm anyone at any time. ” He also said that there was no alternative but to take preventive measures to prevent the spread of the disease during the epidemic. He wished for the recovery of all those who became infected while on duty. On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli drew the attention of the security personnel to strengthen the internal security system for the prosperity, prosperity and good governance of the country. He mentioned that the rule of law, human rights and good governance and development would be built on the basis of that. Describing the Nepal Police as the beacon of internal security of the country, Prime Minister Oli expressed the belief that only through duty can the country fully realize its prosperity, rule of law and good governance. He said crime has broken down the walls of geographical boundaries, He urged the police to be vigilant as the crime network has spread across the country and crime based on the network is taking shape all over the world. He said that the development of science, information and technology has made people's life easier on the one hand but on the other hand its misuse has led to tragic incidents. "If we are not vigilant enough in such a situation, it will add to the difficulties. We have to face the challenges in a timely manner so as not to add to the challenges," Oli said. Prime Minister Oli said the rumor-mongering of self-interested groups by technology-savvy but insensitive to social and national responsibilities has emerged as a challenge. He explained how such activities could be systematically suppressed. He alerted the concerned organizations and individuals to pay attention to that. Reiterating that the government has a zero tolerance policy against corruption, Prime Minister Oli said that the police would play an important role in its full implementation. He urged the police to rise above greed and work for justice for the people. He drew the attention of the police to the misguided information being given to the country and the people. He suggested that the relationship with the people should be strengthened as the trust in the police is weakening and the relationship is deteriorating and in the long run it will affect the peace and security. He informed that the government has always stood by the institutional interest of the police. Prime Minister Oli called for national unity, He urged the common people to be aware of the attempts being made to confuse the country's policy of enhancing nationalism while safeguarding the sovereignty and national integrity. On the occasion, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa lauded the Nepal Police for fearlessly carrying out its responsibilities in the difficult situation of adding new security challenges due to the Kovid-19 epidemic. Home Minister Thapa also instructed the police to move ahead with a strategic plan by analyzing the crime trend. He assured that the ministry would have positive support in strengthening the organization. Giving instructions to raise the morale of the police, Home Minister Thapa pointed out the need for a change in thinking as the society and the police cannot be separated from each other. He also expressed confidence that progressive development would take place after the transition to a federal structure. On the occasion, Inspector General of Police Shailesh Thapa Chhetri spoke on the work done by the police Giving information about the action, he said that 40,000 cases have been investigated in a year. He also said that the police organization was in the process of developing the system. Inspector General of Police Thapa said that a recent investigation has pointed out the need to make the selection criteria for transfers, promotions and missions transparent. He said the investigation had revealed some facts as to why the police had to resign. During the ceremony, Prime Minister Oli and Home Minister Thapa laid flowers at the Immortal Police Memorial. On the occasion, retired Inspector General of Police Achyut Krishna Kharel set up an Achyut-Meena Retirement Fund of Rs. 1.1 million and handed over cash to the Inspector General of Police. Retired Superintendent of Police Tula Bahadur KC was given the Life Time Achievement Award at the ceremony. He pointed out the need to make the criteria for promotion and selection of police personnel transparent. He said the investigation had revealed some facts about why the police had to quit their jobs. During the ceremony, Prime Minister Oli and Home Minister Thapa laid flowers at the Immortal Police Memorial. On the occasion, retired Inspector General of Police Achyut Krishna Kharel set up an Achyut-Meena Retirement Fund of Rs. 1.1 million and handed over cash to the Inspector General of Police. Retired Superintendent of Police Tula Bahadur KC was given the Life Time Achievement Award at the ceremony.
