Awarding the honorary title of Maharathi of the Nepal Army to Narwane

Kathmandu:- President Vidya Bhandari has conferred the honorary title of Maharathi of the Nepal Army on Indian Army Chief Manoj Mukunda Narwane.

Narwane was conferred the honorary title of Maharathi at a function held at the President's Office on Thursday. 

According to tradition, Nepal and India have been giving the insignia of Maharathi to the army chiefs of each other's countries.
