Indian Army Chief Narwane in Basantapur and Pashupati areas


KATHMANDU : Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narwane inspected the Basantapur Durbar Square on Wednesday. He arrived in Nepal on Wednesday for a three-day visit at the formal invitation of Chief of Army Staff Purnachandra Thapa. Indian Army Chief Narwane is on a visit without his wife.

According to Army Spokesperson Santosh Ballabh Poudel, Narwane inspected the Kumari Ghar and other temples and structures of archeological importance in the Basantapur Durbar area.

On Wednesday evening, Indian Army Chief Narwane went to Pashupati area and visited the Pashupatinath Temple from across the Bagmati River due to Kovid-19 and observed the evening arti on the banks of the Bagmati.

He is here to receive the honorary title of Maharathi of the Nepal Army in line with the tradition of conferring honorary Maharathi status on each other's military chiefs between the Nepal Army and the Indian Army.
