Courtesy call between Prime Minister Oli and Indian Army Chief Narwane
Kathmandu:- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli Nepal Visiting Indian Army Chief Manoj Mukunda Narwane Friday courtesy visit.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli expressed confidence that there was a good friendship between Nepal and India and that the issues between the two countries would be resolved through dialogue.
Stating that the two countries have a centuries-old special relationship, he said that there is a tradition of conferring honorary Maharathi status on each other's army chiefs, according to the PM's private secretariat.
Narwane, who arrived in Nepal last Wednesday, was conferred the honorary title of Maharathi of the Nepal Army by President Vidyadevi Bhandari on Thursday. Narwane, who is on a three-day visit to Nepal, will return home on Friday.
