Former captain Biraj Maharjan has retired from international football


KATHMANDU: Former captain of the Nepali national football team Biraj Maharjan has announced his retirement from sports. 

Biraj has announced his retirement from international football while playing against Bangladesh in the tri-nation Cup final.

He said that he was proud to play the last game for Nepal and he will never forget this moment. Biraj made his national team debut in 2008 against Pakistan at the Pokhara Stadium.

Since then, he has scored one goal in 13 years of playing for the national team. He has been given a guard of honor and Prime Minister Oli has given a token of love.
